Who We Are

Growing up, I was never really into watching sports. Sure, I’d watch the World Series and the Super Bowl, but that's about as far as it went. The one thing I would always watch when it was on was the UFC. But MMA was barely a sport when I was growing up. It was a spectacle at best.
Cut to high school, I was skipping class to watch VHS tapes of PRIDE Fighting Championship with my computer teacher, the only other person I knew at the time who was as into this new "sport" as I was. 10 years later and my enthusiasm for MMA has only grown. So what's next? Start a business where it’s your job to watch and talk about MMA fights. That way it’s not an obsession...it’s work.
I'm a former high school wrestler whose currently well past his prime. As a full-time accountant and part-time nerd, I'm not exactly the type of guy you'd expect to be co-hosting an MMA podcast. And you'd be right.
I've always been a fan of the UFC and a casual watcher of the sport. I never knew the fighters’ names or what moves they were doing, but I enjoyed watching from time to time. After joining forces with Andy, I've gained a whole new level of appreciation for the sport as a whole, though I still have no clue who anyone is. Once he tricked me into joining him on this strange journey that is BDP, I was hooked. So, call me the amateur of amateurs. I'm the outside perspective looking in.
